Thank you to the 67 volunteers who helped out today with our first batch of native tree planting at The Park. We were absolutely thrilled that you came along to help - and did such a great job of the planting itself! Thanks to the The Woodland Trust - in total we have 420 native trees to plant. We thank The Woodland Trust for their ongoing support - and we will now continue planting until we have completed our 1.25 acres of new native woodland, fruit tree orchard, new hedgerow and Lime tree avenue. Special thanks to Rob and Kenny who spent so much time planning and marking out the tree locations for today's scheme.. Thank you to John of "2 Chefs" outside catering for donating and serving our delicious soup at the Village Hall afterwards. Thank you to Zoe for providing our delicious pudding. Carol from Humber and Wolds Rural Community Council, who has supported the project via “Village SOS” came along to tree plant. She has provided a great deal of support to The Park project. We managed to part some of our volunteers from their soup for a photo! We had opportunity to have our longest standing and newest Kilnwick residents tree planting today - Audrey and Jacob - a mere 85 years between them! They both enjoyed the village get together back at the village hall afterwards. Finally - a huge thank you to all of you who continue to support us, guide our decisions and dedicate so much time and effort to the creation of The Park. We couldn't make it happen without you.
