With the public opening of The Park fast approaching, we wanted to remind users of The Park that dogs are not permitted on the main park area. Dog walkers are of course welcome to use the public footpath from the copse to the C59 road (the grassed "access" strip to The Park), but we would be grateful if dogs are not taken onto the main park area. Dogs are lovely things and we hope they will enjoy the public footpath part of the park, but The Park is for people and wildlife. Thank you for your understanding. 🌳 The big reveal.... we are so very proud of what our community has achieved. The Park is very much proof of what can be achieved by a group effort with a common goal - with a big dollop of hard work and determination. We can't thank our volunteers enough. Just look at what they've created! We can't quite believe our eyes....
In mid-July the Playdale play equipment (purchased by community donations and our funders) arrived on site. Hauled by Jacox, the kit arrived, was offloaded by our amazing farmer Wayne Smith and then the installation begun! Our 4 amazing tradesmen - Johnny Hoggard, Richard Ling, Craig Norris and Martin Mason set to work, ably assisted by huge numbers of local volunteers. Their progress was astounding and gradually the play equipment and the safety surfacing took shape. We've now had our post-installation inspection, with great success and we are READY to open in our Grand Opening Event over the weekend of 2nd - 3rd September. We really hope you will join us and celebrate this amazing community achievement. http://www.theparkkilnwick.org/the-grand-opening.html Tim (Charity Chairman) spoke about The Park on Radio Humberside this morning - have a listen! 🌳
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p05cbzt3#play The first AGM of The Park, Kilnwick (Charity no 1168729) is tonight at 7.30pm at Kilnwick Village Hall. All welcome.
Huge thank you to Driffield & Wolds Weekly for the article in last weeks paper (may still be some for sale today - next edition tomorrow!). Next week they will publish an article about the Grand Opening. 🌳
The article expresses our huge thanks to our volunteers and helpers who have put so much time and effort into The Park creation, and to Johnny Hoggard, Richard Ling, Craig Norris, Martin Mason and Wayne Smith - whose knowledge, expertise and equipment has been invaluable. We couldn't have done it without you all. |
