Success - Positive Activities grant of £5000 awarded to The Park, Kilnwick

The Park, Kilnwick is incredibly grateful to East Riding of Yorkshire Council for awarding The Park, Kilnwick with a positive activities grant - for £5000.

This grant will allow us to run a full and exciting calendar of youth activities - with the aim being to enhance the well-being of young people across the East Riding of Yorkshire by involving them in the creation of wildlife habitats, challenging them with adventurous outdoor activities and inspiring them with artistic and creative outdoor projects.

Objectives

1. To provide inclusive outdoor challenging activities to promote physical activity, encourage team work, build self-assurance and enhance dexterity and motor skills.
2. To encourage artistic flair and creativity, inspired by nature and contributing to the artistic assets at the Park.
3. To encourage young people to make a positive change in their lives by developing confidence, skills and abilities through volunteering, whilst also benefitting biodiversity.
4. Increasing young people's community participation, reducing social isolation by increasing cross-generational interaction on shared voluntary projects.
5. To enhance appreciation of wildlife through developing habitat creation at The Park, taking part in nature-based workshops and visiting other nature reserves in the area.​
